Steelers Small Ball
The Steelers Small Ball (SSB) Youth Basketball program is designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship and a love of the game of basketball.
This initiative supports and empowers our community-based West End Steeler Basketball Club in an effort to positively influence youth through basketball.
The goal of the program is to build character, discipline, self-esteem and sportsmanship.
The SSB program introduces basketball “skills and drills” for our youngest Steelers participants and is geared towards the Grade 1 and 2 age group (born 2017 and 2018).
Upon registration participants are placed in to one of three separate 60 minute weekly sessions. All three sessions follow the same format and run from 6:00 - 7:00 at all locations.
At the beginning of the season each player will receive a Steelers reversible jersey and Steelers Sling bag, which is theirs to keep.
Upon conclusion of the program they will also receive their own basketball and Certificate of Completion to recognize their participation.
Finally we have to mention that the success of this program is largely due to the efforts of our volunteer coaches who have been trained and certified to run this excellent Small Ball Program.
