Girls on the Rise

On January 2, 2018, the NS Sport Hall of Fame will host our first ever "Girls on the Rise" Basketball Camp under the Camp of Excellence. This girls only camp is for girls in grades 7-9. They will learn from the best women's coaches in the Atlantic provinces at the Citadel Community Centre in downtown Halifax. The schedule includes 3 hours of skills in the morning with 3 hours of games in the afternoon. Guest speaker in the afternoon is TBA.
Coach Anna Stammberger - Head Coach of the Dalhousie Women's Basketball team
Coach Mark Forward - Head Coach of the MSVU Women's Basketball team
(Team members will assist with camp)
Coach Nina Brien - Head Coach of the Citadel High Women's Basketball team and Hall of Fame Camp Director
Olympian and World Champion Karen Furneaux to speak with the group
Each participant will receive a "Girls on the Rise" t-shirt along with the knowledge of what it takes to play at the highest level of competition.
Camp proceeds go in support of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame with emphasis on the Future Hall of Famers Education Program. This free education program is offered to thousands of youth across Nova Scotia in the hopes that stories of our athletes will motivate and inspire them to set goals and go after their dreams.
